Everyone who uses a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Slides smiles. If you are using the indoor rower to train for on-water rowing, or if you simply want to feel the sensation of floating on the indoor rower, the Slides will provide a great new dimension to your indoor rowing workout. One pair of Slides (as pictured above) is required to "float" a single rower (one frame supports the front leg, one frame supports the rear). Comes fully assembled. Indoor Rower not included!
Space needed for an indoor rower on a pair of Slides: 12' x 4'
Note: The Single Rower Slide will work on Models A, B, C, D and E. The Team Boat Slide will work only on Models C, D and E.

Single Slide

When set up as a sliding single, the indoor rower moves back and forth under the person rowing, rather than the other way around. This is much more like the feel one experiences when rowing on the water. You get a quicker catch and you can row at a higher stroke rate because only the mass of the indoor rower is being moved, rather than that of the person rowing.

Double Slide

When set up as a sliding team boat, not only does it feel more like rowing on the water, but there is also the added benefit of being compelled to row together as a team. This should be a great training tool for team-boat coaches to use during the off-water season. To determine the space required for a multiple slide setup use this formula: (number of ergs X 8.5 feet) + 3.5 feet= length required

Note for Team Rowers: It is possible to link two (or more) Concept2 Indoor Rowers together to simulate a "double" (or triple, quad, etc) for great team training. How many Slides do you need? When linking indoor rowers together, you always need one more Slide than the number of indoor rowers you are linking. For example, if you want to link 4 indoor rowers, you need 5 individual Slides. (You would actually purchase 2 pairs of Slides and one single Slide to achieve the 5 Slides needed). Single Slides (half of a pair) are available for $155.00 each.

Each Slide consists of a base with two tracks and a carriage with wheels that run on the tracks. Light bungee cord tension keeps the carriage centered on the base. It takes two Slides to "float" an indoor rower?one Slide for the front leg and one for the back leg. To create a team boat (Models C, D, and E Indoor Rowers only), add one more Slide for each additional indoor rower you would like to link.
