Condition - What's The Difference?

Remanufactured:
Remanufacturing is a detail oriented process of restoring fitness equipment to original manufacturer specifications both cosmetically as well as mechanically. Machines are broken down to the frame base and parts to be sandblasted and powder coated as they originally were at the factory. In some select cases certain machines are sanded by hand and painted with automotive grade paint due to the requirements to properly coat all areas of the machine both seen and unseen. All parts of wear (i.e drive belts, running belts, bearings, bushings, screws, springs, chains, wheels, overlays) are replaced with new factory grade parts. All electronic control boards, consoles, buttons, keypads, switches are tested for continuity and proper current required by the original specification requirements. The unit is then reassembled, lubricated, and calibrated combined with the new parts and electronics as well as plastic covers which completes the overhaul. All details from top to bottom are inspected by a skilled technician to ensure the utmost quality both functionally as well as aesthetically. Due to this thorough process Gym Store is proud to provide an industry best 1 Year Parts / 1 Year On Site Labor Warranty on most products with up to 2 Years Parts / 2 Years On Site Labor available on select items.

Refurbished:
Refurbishing is the process of thoroughly cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, tuning, and calibrating all parts of a machine. Any broken items are replaced with new parts however minor cracks in covers, light surface scratches, overlay / component blemishes may be present. The end product is some that is both safe to use and functionally sound. There is a cost savings on buying these products and they can last you for many years to come but being that all the parts of wear are not replaced (normally parts with less than 25% of usage on them) the warranty is shorted than remanufactured. In most cases what other companies call remanufactured is what we consider refurbished.

Pre-Owned / As Is:
Items sold with this condition carry no warranty, or implication of repair by Gym Store or the original manufacturer. These items are usually sold to wholesale vendors or to customers that would like to service and clean the item themselves in lieu of cost savings. Pre-Owned equipment has been checked for completeness as well as operational and functional safety of the future user. The condition of equipment can vary greatly however we are happy to provide exact pictures of any item we offer. Normally cosmetic details such as paint scratches, ripped upholstery, and small cracks in covers are the most prevalent. Functionally however these units will work but at some time in the future will likely require maintenance. The price savings are the greatest with this category of equipment classification,

Brand New:
All Items are boxed, crated or palletized with the original manufacturer's packaging. This equipment can ship from the either Gym Store warehouse in NY or directly from the a variety of factory locations and carries the full manufacturer's warranty.

Custom
Customizing fitness equipment is the process of both retro fitting a desired brand of fitness equipment machine to a clients desired look / features or the creation of a wholly new item built to requested exact specifications. With regards to retro fitting many of the same processes used in the remanufactured procedures are employed. With brand new customization a machine is created from the frame up and based on what the client’s needs are we design a piece that has everything they want based on engineering and safety standards.
